Gift Card Gala: Connecting Funded Agencies with Supporters
Judi Taggart has been involved in the Lakes Region community for decades. After her retirement from Lakes Region United Way in 2012, her community passion and volunteerism did not retire! Since the beginning of Patrick’s Pub Mania in 2009, Judi and her husband Butch have been Co-Captains of “Tagg Team”, which is also the name of their 1974 Chris Craft Catalina in Gilford. Tagg Team’s annual team of 24 Pub Maniacs have raised over $75,000 in 11 years. Pub Mania’s 31 teams have raised over $2 million for the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction.
Moving forward to 2020, Tagg Team is sponsoring the 7th Annual Pub Mania Gift Card Gala to benefit the Children’s Auction on Sunday, March 22. The doors will open at 1:30 pm and the event is estimated to end by 5 pm.
The GC Gala has loyal followers who play a game “like bingo”, but with a deck of playing cards, covering 3 playing cards on their game card to win. Game players win gift cards and prizes donated by local businesses. It’s so popular that the event is moving from Patrick’s Pub to the Beane Conference Center in Laconia to accommodate more game players.
Beyond their core team of volunteers, this event will require additional help. With this need in mind and also to enable Children’s Auction funded partners to connect with some supporters, it would be wonderful if you could ask staff or organization volunteers to help. Volunteers will assist game players to purchase game cards and swap cards in between games for their lucky cards. For anyone willing to help or with questions, please contact Judi Taggart.
