Janice Beetle Books is very excited to share their first book created for the benefit of the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction. It is truly “By the Kids”—and ultimately, it’s also for the kids, as the money raised through sales benefits children in need.
This year, their 2022 Challenge fundraising team, Janice Beetle Books, asked children in the Lakes Region to be part of this annual book fundraiser. This book contains stories and drawings from local children, and the goal is to continue this project each year, publishing additional submissions from young authors and artists. Janice states, "We love the idea that children get to see their work published in a book, all while helping to benefit other local young people. This edition includes three sections of work: From the Very Young, From Young Adults, and From the Young at Heart. The section written by young adults is more mature in nature; some entries are not suitable for younger children. The final segment includes submissions that were created by our team and their family members, when they were children." The Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction is an annual event held every December in central New Hampshire. With the help of countless volunteers and donors, it has become a major annual campaign. In the 40 years that the community has come together, over $7.5 million dollars has been distributed to local nonprofits that assist kids in need, all through volunteer efforts, community donations, and corporate sponsorships.
